OLD BUSINESS:
CoA – 126 North Main Street (Paint, Mortar, Brick Replacement)
Shirlon Harris had previously submitted a Certificate of Appropriateness application for paint and brickwork at 126 North Main Street The brick work is similar to the work at 128/130 North Main Street – where the HPC had some concerns. This application was tabled on November 20, 2014 , February 19, 2015, May 21, 2015 and June 18, 2015. The HPC asked Ms. Harris to see if she could obtain a sample and further information on the brick she had found out of state to do the project. Ms. Harris returned today with a brick her mason (Joe Sample) was able to obtain from his brother (Ron Sample) to complete the project. This was not the same brick Ms. Harris had previously asked to use. The HPC agreed to let Ms. Harris use the brick she presented today. There was some discussion about the number of bricks she might need to complete the project and also if there were enough available for her to use. Ms. Harris stated that she would have enough to do the necessary repairs.
A motion was made by Chris, seconded by Linda to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness application for brick repairs at 126 North Main Street.
Motion passed unanimously
CoA – 125 East Bank Street:
Lora and Tom Lane had submitted a Certificate of Appropriateness application for repairs to their building located at 125 East Bank Street. They were in the process of filling a window opening with cinder blocks when CEO Vendetti issued a stop work order. The Lanes presented a COA application to finish the repair at the last month’s meeting. The HPC had asked the Lanes to look for an alternative to the cinder blocks to fill the window opening. The application was tabled until the July meeting. A revised application was submitted for review this month. The Lanes would like to use tongue and groove which would be trimmed out and painted brown. The window openings would be covered and the covering would be painted black. Ron suggested using MDF in the window opening for a smoother finish.
A motion was made by Mary Ann, seconded by Richard to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness application for the window repair at 125 East Bank Street.
