Meeting Minutes
PRESENT:

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by Sandy. The Pledge of Allegiance followed

APPROVE MINUTES:
A motion was made by Chris, seconded by Mary Anne to approve the minutes of the
November 19, 2015 meeting as written
Motion passed unanimously
NEW BUSINESS:
CoA – 39-43 NORTH MAIN STREET
Adam Johnson submitted a Certificate of Appropriateness application for several modifications at 39 – 43 North Main Street. The commission reviewed “phase 1” of his application which included the following modifications:

Remove fiberboard siding on the front of 39 North Main Street and replace it with T-111, which would be consistent with 41-43 North Main Street

Install gooseneck lighting (black) for the signs on the first level, as shown on diagram

Install three (3) flat signs on level one, to be lit by the gooseneck lights. CEO Vendetti will receive sign applications and will notify the HPC .

Install sign lights (black) at the second level

Install exterior speaker (black) at the third level

Replace single solid frame window at 43 North Main Street with a double hung window at each end and a solid window in the center to accommodate the ice cream service.

Create a vestibule at 39 North Main Street, add a full glass aluminum frame door
Items 6 & 7 are temporary replacements. The Commission has agreed to allow 3-5 years for the permanent renovations to be completed.
A motion was made by Kim, seconded by Aric to approve the above changes with the understanding that Mr. Johnson will follow the Secretary of Interiors standards for renovation of historic buildings.
It is also understood that the approval of items 6 & 7 are made on a temporary basis with a timeline of no more than 5 years to complete the permanent renovations as outlined in “phase 2 “ of the application.

OLD BUSINESS:
Members were given a sample brochure for review which outlines the historic standards of both the Secretary of Interior and the Village’s Historic Preservation Commission.
MEETING TIME CHANGE:
The Commission will continue to meet at 4:00 pm on the third Thursday of the month
NEXT MEETING: Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 4:00pm
